Tarago Waste Management Centre

Tarago Waste Management Centre is approximately 5 minutes outside of the village (located ➤ Lumley Road, Tarago) that allow local residents to dispose of household rubbish.

Opening hours

8am to 4pm - Saturday, Sunday & Monday

(closed 12pm to 12:30pm on each day)

The Center is closed all public holidays and has an early close time on Christmas Eve at 12pm.

Rural Waste Card

Rural residents who don't have access to a kerbside waste collection service may be eligible to receive a Rural Waste Card which enables them to dispose of their household waste at Council’s Waste Management Centres at Goulburn, Marulan and Tarago. Local waste management services

An initiative arising out of the 2017 Tarago Village Plan was for Veolia to facilitate a local waste collection service for the village of Tarago.  Collection service will begin October 2020.

 To be eligible for this free service you must reside in the village of Tarago. Participating households will receive 1 complimentary 240 litre wheelie bin that will be collected once every fortnight. This service is completely optional and shall run for a trial period of two (2) years. This service does not replace any existing waste or recycling service currently provided by the Goulburn Mulwaree Council.  To register for this service, please email your full name, street address, and telephone number to tarago.wastecollection@veolia.com.

Return and Earn NSW provides the facility to return  eligible bottles, cans or cartons  for a 10 cents per item refund. A reverse vending machine located at  Mobil Goulburn offers you cash vouchers, electronic payment (via the myTOMRA app) or the option to donate.
